Terms of Service
Last updated: July 08, 2026
These Terms of Service explain the basic rules for using Rivet. Rivet is an early-stage project, and these Terms may be updated as the service changes.
1. Acceptance of these Terms
By creating an account or using Rivet, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Cookie Notice. If you do not agree, you should not use Rivet.
2. Who can use Rivet
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or guardian to use Rivet.
By creating an account, you confirm that you meet these requirements.
3. Accounts and security
You are responsible for keeping your account secure. You should use a strong password and should not share your account with other people.
You must provide accurate account information and keep it up to date. If you believe someone has accessed your account without permission, please contact us.
4. Modpacks and user content
Rivet may allow users to create, upload, host, link, share, or manage modpack-related content. This may include modpack names, descriptions, metadata, icons, manifests, uploaded files, and external source links.
You are responsible for the content you submit to Rivet. You must only upload or link content that you have the right to use and share.
You keep ownership of content you upload. However, by submitting content to Rivet, you give us permission to store, host, display, process, download, and distribute that content as needed to operate Rivet and provide the service.
5. Prohibited uses
You must not use Rivet to upload, link, publish, or distribute:
- malware, spyware, token stealers, credential stealers, or other harmful code;
- content that infringes someone else's copyright or other rights;
- spam, scams, misleading content, or impersonation;
- content intended to harass, abuse, or threaten others;
- illegal content or content that encourages illegal activity;
- content that attempts to bypass Rivet's security, rate limits, or access controls.
You must not attempt to attack, overload, scrape, reverse engineer, or misuse Rivet or its infrastructure.
6. Moderation and removals
We may remove, restrict, or disable access to content if we believe it violates these Terms, creates a security risk, infringes rights, causes abuse, or may create legal issues.
We may suspend or delete accounts that violate these Terms or misuse the service.
7. Copyright and rights complaints
If you believe content on Rivet infringes your copyright or other rights, contact us with enough information to identify the content and explain the issue.
We may remove or restrict access to content while we review a complaint.
8. Third-party services and files
Rivet may link to, fetch from, or interact with third-party websites, mod platforms, file hosts, APIs, mods, loaders, or launch services. We are not responsible for third-party services, files, mods, websites, or their terms and policies.
You are responsible for making sure your use of third-party content complies with any applicable third-party terms.
9. Minecraft disclaimer
Rivet is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or approved by Mojang Studios, Microsoft, Minecraft, CurseForge, Modrinth, NeoForge, Fabric, or any other third-party platform unless explicitly stated.
Minecraft and related names belong to their respective owners.
10. Security and downloads
We may scan, reject, block, or remove uploads and links for security or abuse-prevention reasons.
Rivet does not guarantee that modpacks, mods, files, or third-party downloads are safe, compatible, or free from bugs. You should use caution when downloading or running files from the internet.
11. Availability and changes
Rivet is provided as an early-stage service. Features may change, break, be removed, or become unavailable. We do not guarantee that Rivet will always be available or error-free.
We may update, pause, restrict, or discontinue parts of Rivet at any time.
12. Privacy
Our handling of personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy. Our use of cookies is explained in our Cookie Notice.
13. Disclaimer
Rivet is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We try to operate Rivet responsibly, but we do not promise that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or free from errors.
We are not responsible for Minecraft crashes, corrupted worlds, broken modpacks, mod incompatibilities, third-party downloads, or losses caused by user-submitted content, except where the law says we are responsible.
14. Limits of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses arising from your use of Rivet.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory rights.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as Rivet changes. If we make significant changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
Continuing to use Rivet after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
17. Contact
If you have questions about these Terms, account issues, copyright complaints, or abuse reports, contact us using the contact details provided in our Privacy Policy.
